Lebanon Holds Resistance Film Festival – Press TV News

This is not merely a scene from a big screen movie; it is actually a depiction of one of the martyrdom operations, which took place during the Israeli occupation of south Lebanon.

The Lebanese Art Association held a film festival entitled films from bullets, reflecting what has lately been called the culture of resistance.

The true stories of resistance fighters and their families and loved ones who struggles against Israeli occupation for over 20 years has become an inspiration for film makers and writers who have made this art form part and parcel of Lebanese culture.

Naeem Neemeh, who played the role of a martyr in one of the films, told Press TV that his depiction of the martyr Ali Kashmar shows that the years of struggle in South Lebanon have resulted in more love among the people of Lebanon.

Several short story writers had began to write about the experiences of the resistance in a way that relates to the true events which took place during the time of occupation extending from the year 1978 to 2000.

These stories have today been transformed into short films, which are evidently very much, telling of the pains and sufferings of the people.

Although the makers of these movies say they are still in their early years, their enthusiasm to remake the events, which have reshaped history, is more than inspiring.
