Hizbullah’s Internet Group Releases Special Force 2 …

hezbollahflag The Internet Group of Hizbullah, or rather the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, have released a new updated version of their game - Special Force.  This time round, following the victory of the Islamic and Lebanese Resistance against the Israelis in 2006 in the 33 Day War, the new game - Special Force 2 - focuses on various operations that occurred during that war.

In an interview published by the Middle East Times on August 27, 2007, one of the game’s creators Ali Ahmed said:

The game called "Special Force 2," is based on fighting that actually took place, the player is involved as a resistance fighter, and relives the high points of the destruction of the Israeli military machine."

The game was created in order to "reaffirm the destruction of the myth of an invincible army," he said.   The six-step game starts with the capture of two Israeli soldiers on the Israeli-Lebanese border, which triggered the July 12, 2006 conflict that ended just over a month later August 14, 2006.

It involves pinpointing a patrol, launching the attack, destroying Israeli vehicles, blowing up a security enclosure, and capturing the soldiers.  "The [simulated] battles take place day and night," Ahmed said.  Every player, whether alone or in a group, is guided by the "resistance command center," and chooses his level, whether beginner, intermediate, or professional, he added.

Missions also include destroying an Israeli Saar-5 class gunship off the coast of Beirut, as happened during the first days of the fighting, as well as destroying dozens of Merkava tanks and launching missiles on northern Israel.

DSC06119"This game stimulates thinking, because it involves fighting the Israeli enemy not only with weapons, but also with tactics and planning," Ahmed said.   The game, in Arabic, which will soon have French and English versions, sells for "$10 because the goal is not for profit," he said.

In 2001, the first game of this type was launched, Special Force 1, which was based on operations conducted by the Islamic Resistance Forces of Lebanon, against the Israeli Occupiers of South Lebanon, prior to the Israeli retreat in May of 2000 (also known as Eid al-Muqawamah wat-Tahrir).

Even though the game is supposed to retail for $10, it is impossible to get in most parts of the world in fact the only places you can realistically buy a copy at your local computer game store would be places such as Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and perhaps some of the Gulf states.

So those of us in other parts of the world have generally been deprived, and have had to put up with a one-sided viewpoint when it came to role playing games - meaning, that we could play games where Arabs and Muslims were the bad guys, but never the other way around.  However, now thanks to some techies, it can be downloaded (via BitTorrent), and there is also a comprehensive support forum for any issues you may have with the game.  How cool is that!!  There is a caveat, if you do choose to download the game, then it might be prudent for you to donate $10 (or it’s equivalent in your local currency) to a local charity, Islamic Center, Masjed or the like.  Once the game becomes available in all parts of the world, it will cease to be available via BitTorrent.  (On a side note, if you don’t know how to use BitTorrent or want to learn more, click over to mooter’s BitTorrent Guide and get the full low down on all things torrent).

wp5_1024x768So let’s get down to basics, firstly there are torrents for both Special Force and Special Force 2 - and while the files download, install and are totally playable.  As with any torrent file, once the full file has downloaded, be sure to run a comprehensive Virus Scan against what you’ve downloaded and if it shows up as being virused - delete it and re-download - perhaps you got a piece from a contaminated uploaded (highly unlikely, but never the less, always safer when it comes to the sanity of your computer system and besides running Anti-Virus takes seconds!!  So stop complaining, just Right-Click and Scan for Viruses already!!)

Oh yeah, I supposed I should provide links to the torrents - that would be somewhat useful I guess:

Okay,

  1. Special Force 1 - Torrent File: Download Here
  2. Special Force 2 - Torrent File: Download Here

There’s also an official site for the game - Special Force 2 Official Site, and there’s an unofficial site which has a comprehensive support forum which aims to provide help on installation, bugfixes and such things.  the unofficial site also serves as a Fan Site, with information on not just the Special Force 2 game, but also the original Special Force game (released in around 2001).

Anyways, to whet your appetite for the game, here are some trailers from both the original game (Special Force), and also from the new version (Special Force 2)

  2. Special Force 2 - Torrent File: Download Here

That’s it for now, but do leave comments and let me know how you get on.  Oh yeah, and before I forget, if anyone want’s to prepare a review of the game, or possibly a full walk-through, get in touch - seriously!

Warm Regards,

Shabbir

Isn’t it wrong to PIRATE the game for a cause you seem to support??

The links are to a pirated copy …. I thought it is a commercial game?

    Hi Marvas,

I appreciate what you’re saying. However, I must point out that the game is unavailable for sale in the Western World for reasons that are bizzare, since there are other games which are available for sale - where Arabs and Muslims are the victims.

Providing this game here, is a way of attempting to balance the scenario. I am have you seen the game available at your local Computer game store? I don’t think so, and believe me - since I heard about the game, I’ve looked around!!

I had said in my post quite clearly:

“Even though the game is supposed to retail for $10, it is impossible to get in most parts of the world in fact the only places you can realistically buy a copy at your local computer game store would be places such as Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and perhaps some of the Gulf states.”

If you feel a pang of guilt, perhaps it’d be an idea to donate $10 (or even more if you can afford it) to a worthy charitable cause, perhaps one that cares for the orphans and widows that the Israeli occupation of Lebanon created? Perhaps a fund to assist with rebuilding Beirut and helping it’s people following the Israeli “shock and awe” operations during the 33 day war - when incidentally the Israelis were suitably ejected from Lebanon in a suitably humiliating fashion?

I’d actually said this quite clearly:
“There is a caveat, if you do choose to download the game, then it might be prudent for you to donate $10 (or it’s equivalent in your local currency) to a local charity, Islamic Center, Masjed or the like. ”

What’s your real objection? Is it the fact that there are now games where Muslims are the good guys now? Whereas in the western world, in game stores around America and Europe, most of the games have Arabs, Iranians and Muslims as the “terrorists”. This is an fact and cannot be disputed. If you have evidence of a game, available in retail stores in America and Europe, where Muslims are the heroes in a battle scenario or whatever, then please do let us know - I’m sure that with enough people knowing about it, it’s sales could go through the roof!!

If I get a complaint from the publishers of the game, and I have no idea whether they know about this site or the torrents, then for sure we will remove the torrent, however, until such time as that happens, I see nothing wrong with having them available as torrents.

If you don’t want them, the solution is very simple, don’t download them. Easy.

    Warm Regards,

    Shabbir

    or other file sharing site

    Hiya “screw”,

I’m afraid I don’t do Rapid Share, it’s given me too many problems in the past, and I find it unreliable. I’ve checked your IP, and I’ve seen other requests from netvision in Israel access the torrent happily.

Why don’t you try shifting to utorrent - it’s a far superior client, or azureus if you’re on a *nix platform?

Let me know. If you’re still stuck, let me know and we’ll try to find a solution.

    Hope that helps,

    Warm Regards,

    Shabbir

    Hi DONBEIRUT:

Translating the game into English is a great idea, I believe there is an English version out there, (need to check - not had the time).

Failing that, a game could always be designed using the Open Arena Project (See: http://openarena.ws/) and building maps up from the memoirs of those who were involved. Also, the Open Arena Engine is very nice to code against, and is Open Source, which is always nice.

    Hi AliDabaja180:

The torrent site gives you a link to the torrent file, you then need a torrent client (such as Azureus http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ or uTorrent http://www.utorrent.com/ or even Bittorrent http://www.bittorrent.com), to download the torrent.

If you install a torrent client, when you click on the download link (the picture of a floppy), your browser will ask you if you want to save the torrent or open it with a client (such as Azureus, uTorrent, BitTorrent or whatever you’ve installed). Your torrent software will then open up the file and start pulling the files from whereever they are on the internet.

If you are stuck on what torrents are, drop me another comment - now you’ve made an account you may as well use it!! - and I’ll try to give more information or I may do a torrent downloading HOWTO on the new OSS4EVA site at http://www.oss4eva.com/

    Hope that helps.

    Warm Regards,

    Shabbir

What specification is your machine (the one you’re trying to install the game on). I mean:

    Amount of Memory (RAM):
    CPU:
    Hard Disc:
    Graphics Card:

Also, if you can get yourself a Skype account - they’re free - from www.skype.com, then add me, I think that would be a faster way to resolve this.
