Blood Pressure Recording Spreadsheet - Get it at Doxmart

Now I know I’d said I was going to do a more technical post since my last one explaining what Doxmart is and more about how the document/file sampling system works, but I’ve simply not had the time - yet again I’ve been busy with coding; and have had to take things a touch easier on account of having my blood pressure medication dosage changed by my doctor.

Also, with Ramadhan around the corner, I wanted to be sure that I was in good health.

thumb-blood-pressure-spreadsheet Anyway; on the subject of blood pressure; I’ve decided to start keeping a record of my blood pressure readings; and in order to do that I’ve put together a spreadsheet where I can record all the required information and get graphs which show me trends in my pressure readings.  I can then take these readings with me to my doctor on my regular appointments to check up on my blood pressure (I have hyper-tension - which is high blood pressure for those who don’t know).

I wanted to share this document with you guys; it’s a useful tool to have; and a sensible record to keep month on month - even if you’ve not got blood pressure issues it’s useful to keep an eye on your blood pressure.

blood-pressure-monitor You will require a blood pressure monitor - personally I use an Alvita device (see the image to the left) - like the one sold on Ebay (yes this listing is my wife’s - the total price is £20.00 including postage and packing; and the same product by other sellers on Ebay comes in at £23.00; so you’d be saving £3.00).

If you already have one; then it should be fine; any blood pressure monitor you have should give you the Systolic and the Diastolic, as well as your pulse rate.  These are important as these will be what you’ll be logging.

You can find the document over at Doxmart at the following direct URL:  http://www.doxmart.com/doc/details.aspx?id=1370.

What’s Doxmart I hear you say?  Well click on over to the About Doxmart page and let Andy Gilbert (one of the Directors of Doxmart) tell you all about it; or you can read my posts here and here.

If you want to know more about blood pressure; then this page on Wikipedia or the Blood Pressure Association web site might prove useful.

Finally; if you do have blood pressure problems; be sure to take them seriously; they won’t just go away.  Go see your doctor, if it’s really high go to the nearest Accident and Emergency, or at the very least (if you’re in the UK) call up NHS Direct and ask their advice.

Stay healthy,

Warm Regards,

Shabbir
