New Version of Doxmart – Ready for Use
Business, Art, Tech, Experiences, Life, Reviews, Software, Development
Hi All;
It’s been a while since I’ve posted; and there’s a good reason for that.
We – at Doxmart – have been hard at work on the new version – and finally – well last week – it was released to the public ready for use.
That’s the all singing, all dancing new landing page; the registration process has also been revamped and now looks like:
Now that’s all well and good; and the entire registration process is far slicker and cleaner than it was; but in my opinion; the best comes when you’ve registered; verified your registration and logged in – yes – the My Doxmart page has been completely revamped and is now far more useful and definitely far better looking:
You can see there’s far more information on the page; and you will also see that menus have been tidied up; and what on earth is that yellow blob on the bottom right of the page?
Well this is a new feature; and I think it’s unique to Doxmart. Let me explain.
Doxmart, as you know is a site where people can profit from their intellectual property; stuff they’ve got on their computers gathering digital dust; which someone else will have a need for. Doxmart allows people to make money from these items.
Now; when you’re surfing around; clicking from this site to the next; wouldn’t it be useful to make a note – like a little Post-It® note that sites on that page; even after you’ve left the page; and is there for you – and only you – when you come back again. How awesome would that be?
As a registered user of Doxmart – you have one of these Doxmart Notes on every page – as long as you’re logged in. You can then type whatever you want into that note; and it’ll be there for you. If you perform a search for the phrase “Islamic Movie” for example; you will have a search results page appear – and in the bottom right you’ll have your Doxmart Note ready to be filled in. Every page of the search can have it’s own note; every search you perform can have it’s own note; and remember – the notes are private and only for you.
So, say you are looking to upload a document on “Growing Bananas At Home”, you do a search; and if you find another document that also speaks about the art of home growing bananas – you can make a note of it; perhaps you may want to speak to the author of that document, perhaps you want to buy it so you can review it and make sure that the content on yours is unique and not duplicate or whatever; you can make a note about it while at home; and when you get back to work you still have the note to jog your memory so you can be more efficient with your time and not have to constantly memorise things.
Totally awesome! Yes, yes, Doxmart pay me – but not blog about them; I get paid to write software – I blog about Doxmart because it’s simply excellent and one of the best sites/resources I’ve ever used – and with the new functionality that’s around the corner; it’s going to rock even more – just keep checking back and you’ll see. I promise.
We’ve also got the enhanced profile management system; which will let you build up a profile telling others about yourself (naturally you get to choose which bits of information is private and which is public – with Doxmart the choice is always yours and your privacy is extremely important.
Internally; the system has been made even more robust that it previously was; and is now faster and more efficient; search results are more reliable and accurate and we’re working to make them even more so.
Anyways; that’s all for now; to learn more; I’d recommend that you take a look – click on over to Doxmart – register if you haven’t already, and take a look around the new site – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Oh yeah; one more thing which I’d nearly forgotten; we’ve not enabled a public profile page – which Google and other search engines can index. This has a very limited amount of information on it; but it allows people to see your documents and some basic information (naturally that you agree can be made public) about you. An example of mine is shown below:
Go on; take a look; as I’ve said – I promise you won’t be disappointed!
Warm Regards,
Shabbir
